Family entering The Meadow

Our Story

As a family of farmers with generations tied to this fertile Overberg land, our roots run as deep as the ancient oaks that shade our property. The Meadow began as our cherished family farmhouse, nestled just outside Caledon along the N2, with the majestic Klein Swartberg Mountains watching over us. When we renovated it, we preserved its original charm—think exposed beams and rustic accents—while infusing clean, modern lines to create a space that's both timeless and contemporary. It felt only natural to open our doors and share this haven of peace with others seeking respite from the world.

The Property

Perched against the breathtaking Klein Swartberg Mountains, The Meadow is surrounded by rolling open fields that stretch as far as the eye can see. Our grand oak tree stands as a sentinel, offering shade and a sense of timeless tranquility. The renovation transformed this historic farmhouse into a spacious retreat, blending sleek modern design with subtle nods to its farming past—like warm wood tones and open-plan spaces that invite gathering. Whether you're wandering to the nearby 'Die Woud' wedding venue or thrilling at the world's longest zipline just 1 km away, The Meadow serves as your peaceful base in the heart of nature.

Our Philosophy

At The Meadow, we believe in the power of stillness and connection. This guesthouse is more than a place to stay—it's a peaceful retreat where families, friends, and bridal parties can gather to relax, reconnect, and savor the quiet beauty of the farm. We designed it for those meaningful moments: sharing laughter over a braai, unwinding by the fireplace, or simply breathing deeply under the stars. As we like to say, 'Together is a wonderful place to be.' Come as you are, and let the rush of everyday life fade away.
